Show Notes
“Abandoned in the forest as infants, suckled by ferocious smelly animals, forced to wear uncomfortable party outfits, and made to learn to dance the schottische—this is simply the way life goes.”
Life isn’t easy for siblings Alexander, Beowulf, and Cassiopeia, even after they are adopted by the well-to-do Lord and Lady Ashton. Their young governess, Penelope, does her best to teach them Latin, French, geography — oh, and lessons in not chasing squirrels, how to wear pants, and how to stop howling like a pack of, well, wolves! Who left them in the forest? Were they really raised by wolves? Or does something more mysterious live in the forests of Ashton Place?
2/2 in our Governess Wanted series! Check out the companion episode, classic horror short story Turn of the Screw by Henry James.
