Spooky Sisters Binge Club: hope for spring

Locke & Key (Netflix)

Based on the graphic novels by Joe Hill and Gabriel RodrΓguez, this series is super weird and imaginative. I love stories about mysterious, creepy houses full of secrets, and this show mostly delivers. The keys are too cool and the visuals look great. I loved their interpretation of going inside someone’s head!

That said, I won’t spoil anything, but I was crazy frustrated with our main characters by the end of the season. Based on social media comments, some graphic novel readers are disappointed with the show, but it intrigued me enough to add them to my tbr. Plus, I love Joe Hill stories, so I’ll always give him a chance.

You’re Wrong About (podcast)

I’m addicted to this podcast and working my through the backlog. The hosts are knowledgeable and serious, while still having fun. You can tell they enjoy what they’re doing, even if the subject matter is pretty dark. It’s one of those podcasts where you feel like your friends are telling you a story.

Spoiler alert: popular events from history are always sadder than we know. That’s why I’ll never listen to the episodes about gangs, Matthew Shepard, or homelessness. I loved their episode about The Godfather and deconstructing the culture around American mafia movies, what they say about us, and what we desire.

P.S. I Still Love You (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before #2) (Netflix)

Have I read this book? No. Did I enjoy the movie and watch it multiple times? Absolutely! These movies are cute as hell, with a great soundtrack.

I can’t get this song out of my head

What have you binged lately? Got any recommendations for me?
